Carb adjustment for 150 help
#1
Just got a used 2006, 150cc Chinese quad with a zongshen motor. I cant get the fuel mixture right. I think it is running hot, because I ran it at idle and the exhaust pipe by the manifold was red. Checked for restrictions none, plug is good and gap is set at specks that the sticker on it recomended. Oil was also replaced. It bogs down when I goose it, idles fine. This carb only has two adjusting screws that I can see. I havent opened up carb yet, thats the next step I supose.

your quad is running too lean if the exhaust pipe is red. you need to richen it up a little. if your carb bogs when you gun the throttle, you need to clean the carb/jets..........while you got it apart, clean the whole thing real good after you do a thorough inspection. an idle screw should be on the side with a spring, the mixture screw is either on the side or under the carb towards the front (engine side) of the carb. there's always the sticky you can read here in the chinese section concerning carb adjustments.......

hey tish ....did you get it working right? I currently have the carb off my zongshen 250 (cuz I have the same throttle problem as you) and am cleaning it all out tomorow......did the cleaning help your bike out?

Yeah it did still a lil minor adjustments to do on it. I also replaced the plug the guy I bought it off of had wrong one in there. Also he must have messed up the exahaust pipe its to short and melted the plastic on the back mud flap. A lot of work to do on her but for 50 dollors i cant go wrong lol
