I'm telling you guys it's not in the ignition system. It has to do with fuel delivery. If you take the air intake loose and spray starting fluid in there, it will run. That means the ignition system is good. When I pull the plug out it is dry. After cranking on it the plug should be wet if it is not starting and it's getting fuel into the cylinder. We are not getting fuel and I don't know why. Is there some sort of electronic device that delivers the fuel to the carb?

ok then, do the following:
1. block petcock valve
2. pull carb, check for fuel in bowl
3. check float operation
4. check crankcase oil for gasoline contamination
5. open petcock valve and check for gasoline flow to atmosphere through hoses/filters.
6. if petcock valve, fuel filter, or hoses are worn, malfunctioning, or have no flow, replace all applicable parts.
7. while carb is pulled, clean jets and the rest of the bowl.
8. reinstall carb, reinstall hoses, reinstall any and all parts removed during this process.
9. refill gasoline tank. verify gasoline tank has a breather hose that ain't plugged so the tank will not vacuum lock and starve the system for fuel.
10. fire that puppy up and have fun.

let us know

we put a new carburetor on and ours will not start. Less than 5 hours on the bike. Bought from a guy that said the shiners used them and then stored then for a year.

spark plug a little spark when we take it out. Any suggestions?

Both of you would be better starting new threads.

With a new carb, you can be bolting on problems, as unless bought from the quad's maker, it won't be set up for your machine.

Because the plug gets wet, it doesn't follow that you are getting the right fuel/air mixture, this has to be exactly right to get an engine to run. Also, compression has to be reasonably high.

I always start by changing the plug "just in case," then check compression, then squirt a little gas from a blowlamp down the air intake, because this disperses without "wetting" the plug if it is giving too rich a mixture, and as it disperses, there will be one point where the air/fuel/gas mix is just right and the engine will fire, unless something else is wrong with it.
