What brand ATV? Is this a chinese made model?
Other than draining the battery over a few weeks, they really don't affect how the quad works, so I'm wondering why you are so gung ho to remove it? What is the problem you are having?
You could simply unplug it. On most chinese quad this alters the operation only slightly: The ignition switch will no longer shut off the quad. You have to use the handle bar kill switch instead. Everyting else works the same.
