Hey lynn my name is luke and i'm new to this site. I am having problems getting this 110 to fire. Only getting 1 volt out of red&black wire fron the stator. Would you say that the stator is out? Please respond.

Hi Luke,

One volt on the AC ignition power wire (black/red) is not right. Just to make sure, did you measure this voltage at the CDI (with the CDI disconnected) to the ground pin while cranking the engine with the starter motor?

If you measure the resistance of this wire to ground (engine stopped) what do you measure? It should be about 400 ohms. Also what is the resistance of the the blue/wht wire to ground?

Repeat the resistance test from the connector(s) at the stator where the wires emerge from the engine cover. Measure AC voltage while cranking, and the resistance with the engine stopped.

If you find the resistance is infinite (open) at the stator then sometimes you can find and repair a broken wire inside the stator and resolder it. So I would look before buying a new stator. But keep in mind that repairs done inside the stator have to hold up to high temperatures and vibration - so repairs using ordinary electrical tape won't cut it .

Lynn I checked the voltage at the cdi plug with the cdi out'but ther is still one more connector before the stator. I'll check there and resistance when i get back to the bike. thanks
