well lynn i found the info on the net for the compression rating but as i said it doesnt seem to be quite right to me. does anyone know what the compression rate for a 70cc chinese bike should be? like i said maybe i should just by a new engine if that is even possible i cant even verify that type of engine the serial #'s come up as unknown

thanks china bike rookie

what's the compression? <90 psig? what you'd look for as far as a replacement if you ain't gonna rebuild it is this: just a few pointers. which CDI powers the thing, 2 stroke or 4 stroke, horizontal, 45° engine, or vertical engine. then, how does it bolt up to your gearbox/driver/transmission? those are a few things to consider.

another thing, it doesn't have to be replaced with a 70, you might get a 90-110cc in there.

ok i am posting here again if i repeat myself i apologize but when i quick reply it is not posting so i am trying here

Lynn I am not even sure myself about the compression info, i found it on the net myself i find 130 psi to be strange but that is what i found.

does any one know what the compression rate of a 70cc chinese engine should be.

I was thinking of maybe swapping out for a new engine but i cant even figure out what type of engine i have because the serial #'s come back as not found.

I have replaced the coil and the carb. compression to me is next also going to check the see if the spark arrestor maybe plugged causing no fire up.

I beleive it was around 90 psi, bought a nw compress. tester going to try it tomorrow. using old marking paper type hard to get exct reading. I was wondering if it was posssible to get a larger engine in there? dont really want to buy new engine but I cant find any specs on this engine and it is hard to rebuild an engine without specs never mind having never done it before.

there's a few places online to buy replacement engines. as far as dimensions, it'd be a phone call away. 90 psig is close to borderline on low compression i think. but it ain't totally worn out. .
130 psig is much better though
