I just bought my kids a used atv that has a Zong Shen 125 on it. It has been running great but now won't start when I give it gas. When I use the electric start and pull the choke it will run fine but when I give it gas it just dies. Any ideas?

 

I would surmise you are not getting enough fuel.

Check your fuel lines, shut off and filter - replace with good quality items.

Pull your carb and clean out every jet and passage way - you may have dirty jets.

Check you float and needle - it may have dirt in the seat or may even be stuck shut.

Check the air filter and clean.

Ensure that your slide or butterfly on the carb is opening with the throttle.

 

Well, I took it to the shop and they cleaned the carb and also told me the coil wire came disconnected. I don't know for sure exactly what they did but it ran fine for a few weeks then fuel started leaking from the breather out the air filter box. I read that it was probably a stuck float in the card so I decided to take the carb off myself and give it a look. I cleaned everything out (not dirty at all) and put it back together. Now it doesn't leak anymore and only started for a short time but now it won't start. I think it is getting gas and I replaced the spark plug (it was pretty bad) and still nothing. Any suggestions ??
