Got the new stator in today from kazuma use aonline. I had ordered in a near forward/reverse lever but they were back ordered the stator was 119. which i hated spending but it was necessary. once I got it in they included a new flywheel, pickup coil, and mounting bracket. so thats not bad for the price. wish they included a gasket though. I have not had good luck with rtv on it. I hope to get it all put on tonight and try firing it up tomorrow after it cures. I will keep you updated.

installed new stator and flywheel. fired right up. runs great except for one thing which I am going to tear into tomorrow. Wish I could have had this done a while back as Ive been out of town for a few weeks but it had to wait. New problem is forward 5 gears run out great. Wont engage reverse. On this model, you have to have it in first and then pull lever back to engage reverse. it only stays in first and wheels rotate forward so I am thinking it is something simple like its gummed up on the inside since its been sitting for a few years. I really appreciate everyones help on the wiring. Oh and still fighting the dead gum stator cover leak. Do they normally put paper gaskets on them from the factory. If so I may just go to yamaha and see if the bear trackers will fit.

I'm glad it is running. I don't know at all about the shift issues. Thanks for reporting back

I am having a similar problem with my uncle's 250 Baja Wilderness. I believe it's the exact same model as the original poster's. It was getting an intermittent spark but isn't getting anything at all now. It had been running great and then just wouldn't start. I tested the voltage between the red and green source wires and get 65V. Between the blue and black pulse wires I get 0.1V. I am also getting 0.1 V from the yellow wires to the stator, in case that helps in any way. I am getting 6.2 V DC from the CDI to the coil, checked at the orange wire coming from the CDI. That seems low to me. Could it be the CDI?
