No. The atv is a 12v dc system. The charging/alternater on motircycles and atvs are a two part system consisting of a stator (generator) and a rectifier. Additionally the CDI also recieves a signal from stator and tells the coil when to fire the plug. The CDI also adjusts the timing curve based on the rpm of the motor.
