Idles/No Throttle Up

I was thinking of an easier meathod. Pull the hose from the tank to the carb off at the carb. Is the fuel line running full or is it a dribble? Catch it in a clean container and drain the tank. Observe the flow. Is it constant or does it slow or even stop and start again? Could be something floating in the tank and the vacum of the flowing fuel could pull the debris to the outlet and plug the opening. After the bowl is full and no more vacum the debris floats away and the cycle starts again. If that part is ok then on the bottom of the carb there is a slot headed screw recessed into the bottom of the bowl. there should be a drain tube attached close by. open that screw and watch the flow. It should be steady as you are draining the float bowl. If the flow is not steady you have a stuck or sticky float or some debris in the bowl. could be something else but that is two things to determine flow.

"It's really frustrating because my son has ridden this thing to the ground! The exhaust flange broke and was repaired about a month later. I hope a valve wasn't burnt up during the course of him riding it that way".
Yup..I agree..carb problem..

I appologize. After being run into the ground, broke and ran broke, The valves and compression should be 110%. Maybe better. I don't know what I was thinking.
No reason to stop wasting your time on a fuel problem when you could be proving me wrong.

I finally gave up and took it in. It was a combination of items, here we go:
1. CDI
2. Air Intake Gasket
3. Spark Plug
4. Bypassed Alarm (Something in the alarm was trying to kill it since I tried to bypass it)
Thats it, It's running like new and like a charm! Thank you ALL for the support, and responses! It did help!
Out the door, it cost me $100.00. Which I think was well worth it.
Now, I've got to shorten the chain, these cheap china chains strrrrretch easily!
Uhhhg!

so glad you got it running properly. Never thought of the gasket. These small engines can drive you NNNNUTS. When you have a combination of things , it can be really hard to fix. Sounded like a good price on the repair.
