Do I need to do any adjustments for altitude? When I get into the gas it wants to stall and when I go up hill it does not have enough power when I give it gas to get up it also wants to stall. I have read where 200 lb guys are going 30 mph up hill. I'm only 135 and my house is at 9200 ft. Please help

If it is new I've read that many are shipped with desicant in the fuel bowls and you need to idle the bike about 30 min for it to disolve away. Otherwise you now need to clean your brand new carb. If you got it used again the carb may be dirty. Then to save time I'll assume you know the carb is clean. Chinese quads are not sold through a dealership the same way name brand quads are. This means nobody made the basic adjustments to set it up. One of these adjustments is the air/fuel mix on the carb. If you bought it used and It was shipped from lower altitudes or you just cleaned the carb then this adjustment need to be made again anyway. There is a sticky at the top of the forum called something to the effect of 'how to adjust the carb on chinese quad' that will walk you through this fairly simple process.

I've read that alot of these machines are shipped with mineral oil in them. This stuff works great for inhibiting rust during shipping. It doesn't work worth a damn for lubricating an engine expecially if its being ran hard. So if the machine is new you might wanna change your oil just to be safe.
