Lifan 250 Atv No Spark Problem
#1
Hi All, Hopping some one can suggest or help diagnose a spark problem on a lifan 250 ATV motor,
(motor is no longer in the frame as it is being used on a go kart)
All electronics have been stripped off the frame to be used in the buggy. The motor was running since being put on the buggy but then stopped.
It has power every were it needs power.
Has power going to coil, THO that's where the problem lies,
With no coil connected the wire has power
Connect the coil circuit goes dead
Have tested the coil on another bike works fine and the motor was running using the same coil
The strange thing is we started it then stopped it, put the chain on then tried to start it again and it was dead,
Nothing to do with wiring had been touched, have tested every thing to try and diagnose but all we keep coming back to is the coil.
Please any info or suggestions will be much appreciated

grounding issues is what i'm leaning towards. how is the coil mounted on a quad as opposed to your buggy? is the engine/motor mounts the same? do they have rubber bushings? double/triple ground? your gonna have to retrace wiring and how the motor/tranny is set up to see what differences there are between the running quad that the coil works on and your buggy. it might take a while, but you'll find it. i would think it has to do with a grounding issue though! without me being there, YOU are going to have to CSI this thing. use a fine tooth comb
. you'll find the differences, i'm sure of it. tit for tat.
