Kazuma Meerkat 50
#1
I have been searching this site for answers but 1 of 2 things happens, I dont understand or the fix didnt fix it. So hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I was given this kazuma meerkat for my son, from the looks its in decent condition. I went to start the quad and the motor would turn all day long but no bang for the buck, it would not start, no smoke out the muffler nothing.
I read about the carb and checked it out, it appeared to have a blocked pilot. So I fixed that issue cleaned the rest of the carb up and still have the same issue.
I pulled the spark plug off and there appears to be no spark, it is a brand new plug. So my question is how and what can I check to get this problem solved. Mind you I am no mechanic and lucky to fix stuff, if it wasnt for you tube I would be lost. So please help.
Oh also it has a new battery.

have you checked compression with a gauge?
have you tried a new NGK spark plug?
how are you checking for spark?
have you looked at the wiring on the left handlebar kill switch? the off/on/off red switch? is it ok?
does it have a rear tether kill pull apart kill switch located near the rear and possibly under the seat?

forgot to add this: have you checked the backside of the keyed ignition to make sure that kill wire is in good shape?
is the coil plugged in to the wiring harness? sometimes the quick connects come apart, even just a little bit. yeah, double check the quick connects on the wiring harness.

Will do that, I did check all the kill switches. The spark was check by the father in law he has some tool for that. I have to rerun through all the wires tomorrow before work, but def will double check all the connections and post back, again I really appreciate the response. Could the starter solenoid or ignition coil have anything to do with it, if so how can I check that? That was going to be the next check, simply because if the wires are connected, I would think the power just ain't getting to the plug to spark.

and a stator is like an alternator also. it has a pick up/trigger on it to help fire the coil for the plug. i think that's how that works on firing. i'm not an electrician. but i get around.
now, to test for spark, unplug the coil wire, pull the plug, reinstall the plug into the coil wire hold the heavy rubber boot of the coil wire and push the spark plug against the fins of the cylinder/engine....crank the engine and watch the electrode on the end of the plug. does it spark? if so, what color and does it appear weak or strong. be careful, don't get zapped, you'll **** yourself
