like i said, take ignition to locksmith, they'll make you keys pretty cheap. i'll do a little research on your pics. i guess there are no markings whatsoever anywhere?

okay found this
looks like its this one dirt bike, pit bike, mini moto, QUAD, ATV, racing ATV, trike, parts & accessories --WUYI QIAOWEI ELECTRICAL VEHICLE CO.,LTD., and i called a lock smith and he said it would be 20-25 bucks... i think id rather just twist the correct wires together and apart....any ideas?

shineray, ok.
on the key, wow, your locksmith charges a lot. heck, you can get a new ignition online for $10!
so, does it have a start button or is the key the start like a car or pickup?
i presume it has a kill switch on the left handlebar. which kill switch do you prefer in an emergency or daily? the key or the left switch?
you're gonna have to decide which way to go as this is your quad. my own opinion is that i prefer the key, maybe because i'm old and i don't like to change my routines/habits. ....i will throw this at you, the chinese quad kill switches on the left handlebar are not a very robust design. they fail due to loose connections. it probably will be ok to use, but a lot of use "might" loosen connections sooner rather than later. BUT that's just an opinion.

good luck!

i guess the kill switch will be fine , and i think it starts like a normal car as i cant find any start button , also if i just connect ignition wires to start will it have to be connected to keep running or can i just disconnect after it starts? Also i found out the battery is dead , will a auto zone or O'Reilly charge it up for me or do they only do car batteries?

if your key is the starter and is set up like a car, then you're gonna need a key. because, in the ignition switch are these positions: off (kill), on/run, and start. if you can start it, how you gonna keep it running unless you wanna burn up the starter and let it crank the entire time? does that make sense? the circuits must be completed in order to facilitate a start and a run and a kill. it'd take a lot of wiring to make that a separate circuit. it would be cheaper to buy the key.

you would have to ask the seller a question like:
does the key turn to a start position? does it have off, on, start?
3 position keyed ignition.
that is only if you don't have a start button on your quad
i know my polaris has a key that turns and engages the starter, but my honda and yamahas have start buttons.
