Tank 200cc
#1
I have a Tank 200 which is a chinese atv. The problem I'm having with it is I had some work done to the carberator buy someone i know. I went by his shop today and the problem he is running into now is the push button start on the handle bars isnt sending the signal to solonoid to turn the motor over. we checked the fire from the key switch and two of the wires have fire and the other two dont. the colors of the two wires that has fire is black and a red wire. the two that done have fire is green and black with white strip. we traced the wires to the switch and the green wire going into the push button has no power. so we ran a jumper wire straight from the battery and the hot at all times wire(Red) begin to smoke and blow fuse so we ran it to the black with white strip wire and we have fire to the switch but when you push the start button it does nothing. the lights and everything else work on the atv but we cant get the issue with the push button start solved. If someone can please help me i would greatly appreciate it.

did you trace out completely the green wire? most generally, the green is for ground/earth. part of the kill circuit. to me, no wonder you're blowing fuses. sounds like it just needs to be replaced. those ignition switches are real cheap. usually <$20.

Yeah we replaced the fuse and jumped the wires at the switch. When you jump the yellow and orange wire from the switch it automatically begins to turn over and when you jump the black wire with white strip it sends power to the switch but when you push the button nothing happens. Where can I get the switch from.

there are several "off brand chinese atv parts" websites to choose from. most of the chinese brands have parts that interchange with each other. kind of like chevy to buick to pontiac to oldsmobile...you know, GM. then the ford to mercury to lincoln to etc....
you just got to look at the part, make sure the wiring is the same based on pics and it should work.
who makes the tank 200cc?

I have no idea who makes the brand. I do have a vin number for it but all the parts houses that I contacted about the atv cant search parts by vin. they pretty much want you to play the guessing game.

I also figured out the problem as well. when I push the rear brake pedal the brake light comes on and it energizes the ignition switch. the push button then works. to me it seems I have a good ground to all the ground circuits but it seems to be lacking power to complete the circuit. I don't know if the ignition switch is supposed to complete the circuit by adding power to the circuit or what im kind of confused. also would anyone know where to get parts for this type of quad from
