Daymak 200
#1
Good morning all.
Over the weekend I obtained a free Daymak 200cc ATV from neighbour who had it at his cottage. He wanted rid of it as it hasn't run in over 2 years. He said it was running before last stored..never to be used again...So I thought it would do for my daughter. So, I am familiar with 2t motor bikes....so here goes.
I figure before I get to involved I would start with the following.
-dump old gas
-cleanup carb/jets and filter.
-Dump old oil (anyone know what grade and how much is best)
-check for spark using battery charger(has start position)
After that, see if runs or not.
Anyone have any other things to check or common problems that I should be aware of.
As I don't have a manual and previous owner forgets (duh
)...the left lever on bars.....looks like a cluch as cable goes down to engine, which is similar to my bike....other quads I have seen this is where the brake is located. Only brake on this looks to be foot brake. This lever is tight. When moving gear lever it feels like 1 gear down (reverse?), above that neutral, above that it feels like 2 more gears. Is this correct.
Thanks in advance for reading. Hope to get running as daughter is now wanting to get on and go........
