Hello nice fourms, looks like the place i need to be.

when i hold the brake and press the start butoon makes a hissing noise but doesnt turn over starter.

1 i have changed fuze

3 gone over connections seem to be all together,

4 have tried tapping starter.

ok so when i hold brake brake lite doesnt come on but headlites work fine.

when i move atv back and forth and use brake after doing this for hour or so got it started last week, this week can get it to turn over more then hlf a second every 20 mins.i am wondering if my starter is seised and if so can i take it aprt or something?driving my kid crazy which in turn is driving me crazy....

your brake switch sounds like it is in need of replacement. that's the switch with 2 wires coming out of it at the lefthandlebar brake lever there at the brake reservoir. you either got a bad switch or a wiring deficiency. that switch is a safety interlock that won't allow the starter to crank until it is satisfied..i.e. circuit closed.
p.s.
quit burning up your solenoid posts before you have to replace it.

Before you replace the battery get it load tested. It's a simple test with a gauge that really tells you if you have a good battery.

ok not sure how to do a load test?

i have a meter, the battery says fully charged.

i hooked the atv up with jumper cables to my truck and it turns over with no problem.while hooked up to the truck the brake lites come on as well.

i have been having this problem with this atv ever since i put it together.i never thought to hook it up to truck before i figured the charger i have would be enough powr.i have been reading a bunch on this wonderful site which really helps me not feel so helpless.

your local parts store can load check the battery. it may be failing under a load...i.e. when cranking the starter, it drops the voltage to below normal readings.
