I think you answered your own question on that one.. Most atvs usually say 87 to 89 octane rating needed unless race quads. I don't know why a little Honda or Suzuki clone 90/110 would call for a higher rating.

So its not a universal rule to run high octane in these? I assumed they had higher compression. Maybe mine isn't sealed so tight any more and thats why it likes the lower octane gas? It definitely says 92+ on both swing arms I have with no indication "for racing only" or similar wording.

Chinese atvs and some of their decals and stickers I've seen are just plain weird,that's the best I can say.Something lost in the translation to English I guess. Use the gas that runs the best. No way a low compression little 90 or 110 4 stroke needs 92+ octane. We even tried that on real Ktm mini racing two strokes that would rev about 9,000 rpm. Accidentally put some 50/50 race and pump gas in one and couldn't figure out for awhile why it ran so crappy..
