Question Alpha Sports 90cc Kolt (Tomberlin)

First, I apologize in advance for my ignorance.

I just picked up a 90cc "Kolt" for my son and after doing some Googling I found the manufacturer as being "Alpha Sports". Thankfully, this one actually starts and runs good, but I see that it's 2-stroke and I can't find any markings on it as to what type of oil to use in the oil tank. I didn't really trust what the guy who was selling it told me (which was to use SAE 30). And whatever is in it right now smokes like all crazy. Although, I guess in the long run I would rather it be over-oiled than under-oiled. Suggestions?

Also - would like to have an owners/service manual if anyone has any links. I did find a website that wants $35 for a CD with the manuals, which I think is a little absurd...

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.

Use a dedicated 2 stroke oil. I'd drain the oil reservoir ang replace it with the proper oil. If it still smokes, my guess would be the rings are bad. Could also be the oil injection system, but the majority of the time they stop working rather than putting too much in. Sounds like a rebuild might be in your future.

Again, forgive my ignorance, are we talking about just mix oil, like a 32:1 or 50:1 or something more specific?

If it's like the one I have, just fill the oil reservoir. It has an injection system that will mix it automatically.

Default Oil reservoir

What type of oil do you put in the oil reservoir
