Default Chinese 125 quad won't crank up after short

I came here for help.
What happened: I had the quad running, BUT when I put the battery in, the battery was shortened with the battery "tray". The quad started. I saw smoked coming out from the cables and saw the short and remove the battery immediately. After that the quad doesn't even crank on its own.

What I have done: I tested the selenoid and it is OK. I put voltage to it and it did crank. So selenoid and starter are OK. The ignition switch is ok, the start switch button is ok, it is sensing the brake pedal.
Lights can be on. Fuse near the battery is ok. Are there any other ones?

There is no voltage getting to to the selenoid.

The two wires go from the selenoid to the remote start? box up front. The box is not sending power to the selenoid. I cannot figure out why?
There is power getting to the box.

could it be the CDI or rectifier? or is it the black box?
Under normal conditions I need, the brake pedal, the handle bar kill switch, the ignition.

Please save me, I was supposed to get it running to sell it for my child. I got it running but I also killed it. And I have a wife who is his mother....If you are married you can imagine my pain...
Thank you

Update: The pedal brake switch was bad. I jumped it and got it to crank.
Still not turning on, will try tomorrow, need to charge the batt.
