Well damn, I gave it another shot tonight and got it running.
Based on the belief that the pilot jet or circuit was clogged I decided I had nothing to lose and drilled the pilot to .0301 (smallest drill I have) and during carb assembly something fell out of the mixture screw hole.... the seal and washer. I forgot some carbs have this and reinstalled it and the rest of the carb. Installed it, some fresh gas and vroom. Started and ran without the choke but seem to start running worse and worse and started spitting fuel and stalled (WTF). removed carb and (LOL) found the main jet in the bottom of the bowl. Reassembled blah blah blah and..... No start! I figured I fouled the plug, yep. Got a new plug and the engine started without the choke, revved and idled but seemed a bit rich and minimal response from the mixture screw but did run better when set lean, basically closed. Now what the hell I thought, first not enough fuel and now too much! Removed the carb again and installed another pilot jet from out of a 30mm Chinese keihin carb I have. Reinstalled and gave it a go. It runs, and correctly now. Warmed up a bit and adjusted idle mixture and idle. The engine is now running great! Good throttle response and smooooth idle. Restarts instantly.
I pulled the plug and it looks great.
I pretty sure I fixed the problem the mixture seal and washer, I suspect it was in sideways or something. I do know I noticed mixture screw would protrude through the hole in the hole, I'm unsure if it did before, I lightly seated it and backed it out 1.5 turns, never took note of it.
I'm sure the fresh gas and new plug helped in bringing it all together to.
So it has been solved
Also, found the machine charged, lit all its lights and also found out it has reverse!! It has an electric solenoid (or something) inside thats activated when the brake is applied and allows it to shift up past neutral. Interesting, but it does work.
Also has a cooling fan but was never connected, no switch or thermostat ect. Does work though.
So now I just need to check, clean and adjust the brakes in the front. The rear brake reservoir hose is broken and the master isn't building and pressure. The LH handlebar switch is missing along with the ignition switch and front plastic. Looks like this machine didn't work from new and somebody robbed parts off of it. Cruisin eBay Chinese parts looks like I can make it look and work like new for about 300 dollars. Puts me at 380 into this machine and that don't seem bad considering I just paid 750 for a new 110 Chinese model for my son's Christmas present.
I know there Chinese junk, but we'll have some fun on them for the light riding we currently do. I do have a couple of Suzuki's that I'm currently restoring for the dune trips and more robust rides.
