Pull the spark plug cap,blow out any water from around the plug and the cap that may be grounding spark. Any electrical connections that may have gotten wet,I'd pull apart and blow out with compressed air and use some electrical grease. Water and electronics don't mix, same as oil and water.

I did exactly what you said. When I went to take out the plug cap and to try if it had spark were full of water I wiped a little bit of wd40 in the first the engine fire
