First thing to check is for a spark, an unusual fault with CDI systems is the "only sparks when I take my finger off the start button" syndrome. Nobody seems to know the cure for that. Other possibilities include low compression, a bike will start with a push but not on the starter because compression is down and it needs to be revving faster than the electric starter provides. This is often due to the valves needing setting, but any reason for low compression will cause this.

The stater just spins like it’s not catching the flywheel we noticed yesterday that if we spin the flywheel the other part behind it won’t move

I assume you mean the gear that the starter spins is not turning the flywheel? If so the starter one way clutch has failed, remove flywheel and fit a new clutch. If it is the three rollers with springs behind type, you can usually get away with just new springs, but if it looks a bit like a roller bearing race, a new one is the only cure.
