Good morning. I started refurbing a Chinese ATV that was in bad shape. More just to learn how they work than actual riding. anyway, it has been sitting, I want to drain whatever is in the gas tank. I removed the bottom hose expecting it to drain, it did not at all. is it clogged, or is there a diaphragm of sorts requiring the carb to "suck" the gas from the tank. Before I do any more want to be sure! thanks.
Usually there is a tap on the outlet from the tank, though not always. If there is a bolt on flange for the outlet pipe or tap, remove it and clean the filter that will probably be inside the tank, but attached to the flange. If it is just a moulded in plastic pipe, nothing you can do except drain as much out as you can by removing tank and turning upside down, then unblock the outlet pipe with an air line or screwdriver.
