I just bought a used Tao Tao 110cc for my daughter. It had a blown headgasket , (dripping oil when running) and leaky carb. I just finished replacing the headgasket new carb on and it fires right up (yay) It was idling pretty high so I'll need to adjust the carburetor but after 30 seconds of it running I noticed smoke coming from where the exhaust goes to the engine. Suggestions on what could be causing this? I replaced all the gaskets on the head , I never pulled anything past that point. Any help would be appreciated.
I may have found the culprit , the top cap of the head has a drip which is dropping onto the exhaust, I can see a tiny bit of gasket sticking out ( to much torque I'm guessing ). Question though, if I just take off that cap and replace the gasket will I have to go all the way down and replace the head gasket as well since I loosend the bolts?
