125cc taotao charge issue
#1
new atv will charge batt at 14.ish volts with the lites off,if i apply the brake handle or turn the lites on the volts drops down to 12.2 ish and slowly drops, reving engine will not raise charging volts up.if i turn lites back off then the volts climb back up and hit a decent 14 some volts.
\any idea?

Held off a bit as I'm not certain but I don't think anything is wrong. The engine is made for a scooter with one headlamp and the alternator may not be able to keep up with two headlamps.

Dunno about that if a manufacturer made one where the lights killed the battery then they would not sell to many units once the word got out. I would start checking the charging system and voltage regulator. Could also swap out the bulbs for some cheap ebay LED's

Battery could be the issue. Doesn't sound like stator, but most likely the regulator if anything. Also unplug the remote control assembly. It can only casue problems and shorten battery life. That is if you are no longer using it.
