Making it goes faster (top speed) possible, but you have to give your low end quickness to do this. Even then, you're not going to be able to make it go 90mph. Safely anyway.

IMO, if this is going to be ridden on trails, I'd take low end quickness over top end speed.

You can change out your sprockets to get a higher top speed. Not sure what one you would need, but I'm sure someone here will be able to point you in the right direction.

Bunch of stuff you can do...what's the budget and more importantly the need for speed? If trail riding 65mph is more than enough...but if track racing then I can see the need...cheapest way is gearing (sprockets) and taller tires...more expense would be the plethora of go-fast goodies available for the 400EX...

You can add a high flow air filter like a K&N, aftermarket exhaust and then most likely have to rejet the carb. Changing the sprocket size in effect changes your gearing. You can get higher top speed but your acceleration will be more sluggish to compensate. I'd rather have a quicker quad with a little less top end than one that has slower acceleration and higher top end speed. Unless you're racing or ride in dunes or wide open areas, its hard to go faster than 65 mph anyway. Keeping a quad stock makes it more reliable too. Quieter as well. Some think making a quad louder makes it cooler but its the reason many riding areas get shut down. People who don't ride hate all the noise. I've had a couple quads years ago with aftermarket exhausts on them. I ended up putting a stock one back on because they annoyed me with how loud they were. The only way I'll have an aftermarket one now is if I buy a quad with it already on it.

Road riding or drag racing is the only reason I can think of to make it faster.
I could get my daughter to ride it. That would make it faster.
