Default Please help me identify this quad.

Hi all,


I just got this given to me. Can anyone give me any info on it? I tried to use the VIN # but what I read compared to the VIN doesn't make sense to me. I can't find brand or part numbers.

Kinda looks like a homemade vin to me.

The VIN plate seems to be the same age and condition as the rest of it.
I have entered the vin into several vin decoders and they all say unknown or try again.
It's crazy to me, the lack of branding or identification on this thing. Is this common?

Yes it is common to have Chinese makes that don't come up on VIN decoders. The vin plate is genuine, you can see the "pin punch" marks that normal letter/number stamps don't make. Also, many Chinese machines are branded by the importer so the makers didn't write their own brand names on them, once the stickers on the plastics are lost, so is the identity, which is often that of a "long gone" importer anyway.

It would have been better to photograph the machine with plastics on to help with identification, also good views of the engine, so we at least know if it is one of the common Honda clone types.

Those footwell plastics are unusual, as is right hand gearchange, and most machines don't have that upright fuel tank, so someone should recognise these features.

Here are pics with the shroud on.
My biggest problem is the wiring. It is been hot wired and wiring is a mess. Does anyone have a generic schematic that might work with this quad?

OK, figured out it is a 2005 United Motors Moon Trax 90.
The wiring harness being butchered was the biggest problem but with a good carb and fuel tank cleaning, and a new cdi box, battery and ignition it runs like a top. About $50. ��
