TIRES i need help quick

what do the dimensions on the side of a tire meen. and will any width fit any rim?

well say for instence my tires are 20 11 9 the 20 is how tall the 11 is how wide and 9 is the hieght of the rim and yes any width tire usually fits on any rim. Tell me a tire a rim and ill tell u if it fits.
