spent all day doing paddle tire tests
#1
Ok, well, today I decided would be a goodday for a paddle tire test at the drag strip. Here's the results.. Pro-wedges, not good for sanddrags. 9 paddle 21in tripple buffs, not enough paddle. 10 paddle 21in tripple buffs. Better than the 9's. 9 paddle 22in extremetripple buffs. pretty good but the ones that are giving me the besttimes, and hook-up are the 22in 12-paddle haulers. I am running 13-40 andleavingin 2nd. TomorrowI will try 14/40 andleavein 1st.

I doubt I can come. Why don't you come on up to the Sand drags? There is a raptor there on NOS with an airshifter and a+8 swingarm. I dunno what he has done to his motor. maybe some other weekend.

An airshifter is a little shaft that goes into a tube that you connect to your shifter. there is a little compressed air tank, and a button. when you press the button, the shaft is forced into the tube, up, and shifts the quad up a gear. It helps from mising gears, and it shifts smoother and faster so no time is lost in shifting.
I changed the gearing some today, and re tried all the paddles. the ones that gave me the all-around best were the 22in 9 paddle extreme tripple-buffs. Just happened that the guy had them for sale, so we bought them. My one-way bearing took a **** today, another thing to add to the list of things to do.

bad ds 650, i was just wondering what kind of horsepower your running because im getting ready to buy a new set of paddles as well! I am now running an old set of sand skate 2 from my old banshee...and which everyone knows the sand skate 2 is a great trail tire and a horrible drag tire! I was told to go with the 21x12x8 9 paddle extreme hauler! Last week i borrowed a friends 21x12x8 10 paddle extreme haulers and seemed to work pretty well. But the only basis of performance are my sand skates. What do you recomend? Just so you know its for a 686 Raptor!
