What effect does more teeth on a front sprocket have?
#3
Yes, More teeth up front gives you MORE top end, but it will make your lower gears longer aswell(sometimes this is good)
1 tooth up front is like drpping 3 teeth in the rear, and vise-versa. also your rear tire size is another way to change your gearing.
BOOMER! SOONER!

I definitely would like longer lower gears... especially 2nd gear. Alot of times in tight trails I want the bite in 2nd but rpms seem to want me to goto 3rd =).
I'm not sure how many teeth the stock front sprocket on the 03 warrior has but I've read on this board people suggesting a 14 tooth front sprocket. Anyone have any experience with different sizes to give a overall description of low end and high end changes?

1 tooth up front is a noticeable difference. also I beleive the warror came out with 22" tires on the rear so if you stay with 20" tires, you will have to go UP on the front 1 tooth to get your "Stock" gear ratio back. and if you want more than go up another tooth. It all boils down to Personal preference really. Myself I like to be able to use my 1st gear, so i gear up.

on my old warrior i had stock size tires with a 14 tooth front sprocket it ran really good for a warrior and also call sidewinder sprockets they have a 39 tooth rear sprocket they also have 38 with your tire size i would go up one in front and down one in rear going too large in front could cause you some engine case problems knocking a hole in it and etc

OK - everybody duck, here comes some math......a real easy way to determine the effect of changing sprockets sizes is to remember this:
Rear/Front=gear ratio
Lower gear ratio = higher top speed
Higher gear ratio = More bottom end
Here's a handy table Ratio chart courtesy of Sidewinder Sprockets
