blaster...a good dragster?
#1
i was wondering if anybody knows how well a 1993 blaster will do on the drag strip and what can i do to make it beat the pants off the competition. does anyone know a good exhaust system to use and do you know where i can get some dyno charts?

toomey is the way to go they claim 26hp at the crank and i know mine goes pretty good. as for beating the pants of the compition you will be able to beat maby warriors 300ex 250ex z250 mini's as for anything bigger such as say a 400ex you will need some more mods such as porting, carbs. however even with a 1,400$ CT 240 kit with 41hp the most you will be able to beat is stock higher performance quads. the truth is that a blaster isn't going to be a drag king with a lot of mods you can get it competive stock wise with other quads but it makes a lot more sense just to buy a raptory or banshee pipe it and you allready will have more hp then most highly moded blasters. not to mention be more reliable. the blaster is a fun quad and great to learn but it isn't and will never be the drag king. In the sport class yes its probably the fastest but it isn't a high performance quad. but remember its all about the rider in drag races. most of all though just have fun. peace

i planned on just racing it against other blasters and not much of anything bigger. as for buying a banshee or something thats still a dream for me. not enough funds ya know. i planned on kinda just working my way up. ive never draged a wheeler before but i love it on sleds and i thought what the heck lets try it on a wheeler. so thanks!
