Default Raptor airbox mod question

Hello all,

Thanks to the helpful advice of you guys in this forum, I made my pipe/filter/jet purchase. In setting up the modified airbox, I have a question.

I ended up going with the Pro Design K & N airbox mod kit, which includes the billet aluminum flange collar to mount inside the airbox, and the K & N filter itself.

I took the airbox off, and got the collar installed and have the new air filter in place. And I plan on running the machine WITHOUT the airbox lid. However, this brings up a question.... what do do with the rubber breather hose that connects to the factory airbox lid?

Please bear with me as I'm by no means an ATV mechanic But with the airbox mods having been done, this breather hose is just kind of hanging in "limbo" now since I no longer plan on using the factory airbox lid. Is this OK? Or with the modified box, is something suggested to do with this hose?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Kevin G.

you can go to an auto parts store and get a K&N style mini filter to fit the crank case hose.

they are only a few dollars

Go to your local Auto Parts store and pick up K&N air filter part #62-1100. It has a mounting stud on the top of it so you can bolt it to a fabricated bracket. Part #62-1010 does not have the stud and you can zip tie it to something close. I like the first idea and thats how mine is set up.

Take a look at my photo page when I get it back up. I have a pic of how I installed the K&N 62-1100.

i just got some mini KN look alike 5 bucks and used the stock 90 elbow and slip the 2 together and for the air box..instead of buying the 80$ dollar plate i just drilled 2 hole through the filter and bolted it to the air box...works great and saved money!

The uni breather part number is 30-3277 in Dennis Kirk. ($13.99) The guys at Dynojet said you can just leave it open though.

I left mine open while I was waiting for the filter to come in. I rode it one or two times without, nothing big just around the house n stuff. When I went to install it I could see dust and debris inside the hose, not good. You definately have to have a filter on there.
