how do i put on a axle

Can some one give me step by step instruction on how to put on a eliminator axle for my 400ex. Thank you very much

You will need to remove the sprocket and brake calliper first. Then with the quad still on the ground loosen the axle nut to show the snap ring which is on the outside of the nut. This needs removed so that the nut can be slide of the axle then remove the brake rotor. Then remove the rear wheels and hubs. Next take the brake hub and axle nut of the askle and slide the axle out of the carrie on the sprocket side. Then reverse the procedure instaling the new axle just make sure you grease the bearings and put all the seals back in place.

I got that far but i can't get the lock nut off, which way do i turn it?

it is oppisite of a regular so you go righty loosie, lefty tighty insetd of right tighty, lefty loosie. but they dont come off easy you might have to heat it up
