Default Finally! :D

Believe it or not, I have finally gotten my carb to work right!!!!!

It ends up a needle valve o-ring was making me run rich like Bill Gates, and my 155 Main Jet was a bit generous for my setup.

Replaced the O-Ring and the Main with a 150.

Went for a 2-hour ride moments ago (muddy as hell everywhere, but fun all the same) and I was breathless. I used to think it accelerated quick, but man this is intense FAST. It revs up real quick and doesn't stop till I tell it to.

There is also no more loading-up and bleh-bleh-bleh when I release on the gas. No more stalling or sputtering...

I think my 45 is almost tuned to perfection, and since there are no dynos around here to test it on, it's good enough for me.

Although it still does not wheelie like I wish it would, it's a lot better than it was, a 15 tooth front will probably help a lot.

I would like to thank BigDaddy331 for helping me on the jetting and on learning the carb. And a big thanks to HighTower for diagnosing the O-Ring leak. Everyone else that helped, including Sandman, Mudstud, biggerisbetter, MrMeaner...can't think of any more right now, but THANKS A LOT.

Peace
TyreSpinner

That's great man! I would still do a plug check and make sure it's not white, but I'm just way paranoid about being lean. I plan on the RW stage one after I get some more use out of the factory stuff, I'll be checking with you for advice then Great job bud!

A too lean motor runs hot right?? The danger being frying a piston or whatever??

My plugs seem just right, and in about 4-5 hours of riding, I don't think the fan came on once. Not that I noticed anyway...

Good job, and Kudos on your patience, and being more stubborn than that carb!! LOL.

Someone is going to have to tell me about this O-ring thing! hehe

Ummm,

after a few days of riding with the new o-ring and the new 150 main. I went to check my plugs, and they are still all sooty and black. Isn't that soot and carbon supposed to burn off the plug if i'm no longer too rich, or do I have to change plugs and start over?!?

Or maybe I'm still running rich....

Thanks

a fresh plug and then a good ride would probably give you a better reading. The soot take a long time to burn off
