I have narrowed down what quad i want between the fourtrax 250r and a older 300ex.I am just turned 15 and i way around 135 but i am fairly strong and arpund 5'5". I know the 300ex will work perfectly for me but, i really am interstead in the 250r.I dont know very much about the 250r at all. I like the fact of the kick start but ohter that i dont know anything else really. I am assuming it does not have reverse? but is it really that heavy to need it. I have also not forgoten about the warrior but i really want to stick with HOnda. ANy information would be greatly apreciated . Thankyou)

If the only reason you want the 250r is the kickstart, get a 250X. Its the same as the 300 just not electric start. If you plan to race or do a lot of mods, maybe think about the 250r. Its more of a racer than the x or ex.
As a beginner, the 300ex or 250x would probably be easier to learn on than the high performance 250r.

Yes it is a four stroke, the best years were 88-92, the 87's had a weird front bolt patten. It does have reverse.

If i were you and if you have the money, you should buy the warrior. It is the most reliable and best handling quad that i have seen. There are a lot of modifications that you could buy and the quad responds very good to them. If you want one try to find a 1997 alba warrior.

i have rode 300ex's and 250x's and i like the 250x because it is lighter because of no eletric start i think they are faster too so i would get the 250x if i where you i was going to buy a 250x until the guy that had it sold it when he told me that he would save it but now i have a blaster and i love it
