Is there any way I can get my engine and gear cases looking better?

 

Clen them real good with some simple green.Then you can polish them,boy that's a job.Take a look at the j's in the gallery.Look at Jim Maloney's engine in his pic's.Aluminum polish works pretty good ,just doesn't last very long.Hope this helps.

 

There are some spray-on aluminum brighteners, but always test in an inconspicuous place, and since they're normally acid based, have water readily available.

 

I use a acid base cleaner made to clean coal trucks alluminum trailers.Dillute itt spray ,bush and rinse off.work good but test it first.

 

What's a good brand name and where can I find it?

 

i used some heavy metal polish on mine originally i was just going to clean them up but once i started i realized they were turning chrome so i had to polish for a long time to make it look good. if i was you i would just clean them.
