Vforce Not AS Fast As I Thought
#1
My brother and I bought a 700 and a 400 kfx at the same time and we have drag raced them a bunch of times and switched rides and the results suprized both of use and the guys a the dealer, The 700 is not that much faster than the 400, maybe a quad length up to 50 or so. Yes it sure feels faster but it is not.
Im upset by this, I thought i was buying on of the quickist bikes out there,Or maybe mine is a lemon.

Mine was unimpressive until I had about 15 hours of break-in on it and then it really started to come alive. Putting a stiffer primary spring in ($20) REALLY made it start to run like it should.

I raced some guys at the river one day and got beat by all of them. KFX400 w/ pipe and 400ex's with mods. Could have a lot to do with the tires since I did not have my paddles with me, but I was PO'd. Ran 'em over and over again and they beat me every time. I still like the seat of the pants feel of the 700 better than the 400 though. A buddy just bought a new Z400 last week and it feels like a toy after being on my big 700 and Vinson.

At least its not a problem with my bike. I do hope it does get better with time ,I am only on my 3rd tank of gas.
When we are going about 10 mph and nail it the V walks away on the 400 easy. Just wont do as good from a dead stop. Maybe I will try some spings, got any suggestions on size.

Well im very happy with my ride and on a drag race i am very comfadent in my quad, I also think with some mods that the V will be doing what it is really capable of. Seeing how it has the biggest engine, it therefore has the best potential for performance.

Go here and look at the yellow or brown Polaris springs. Makes the 700 pull harder from bottom to top.

KevinM Thanks for the tip, I think I will try the yellow one. I dont want to go to much, just a little more would be great.
Do you know of a good sping for the drivin pully. Or do I not need to change this one
