How to build a 426ex? (AIR)
#1
AIR or anyone else that knows. Where doI start in buildin a 426 as you did. I don't want to run race gas though.(I dont know if you do) Any way I have a e-series pipe, k&n filter with outerwear, no lid on air box and rejeted with dynojet. I recently posted I was looking into a carb and you suggested I go with a piston and cam first. Before I bore the engine in what order should I build the quad? what compression piston, cam etc. Your time and help is appreciated. Thanks!

I suggest you call Tom at TC Racing (814) 723-3514. I called him when I decided to hook up my 400Ex. He suggested his Cross Country cam, 10.5 to 1 piston and rings, and bore it over 3mm. He said not to sleeve it. Also, put on a 36mm Lectron carb, and send him the fly wheel to modify. The whole package only cost about $700, and he explained everything to me. I was really impressed with his knowledge. I wanted a higher compression piston, but he advised against it. I wanted new springs and he said the stock ones were fine for a 425. He saved me a lot of money with his advice.

I also had Tom Carlson(TC Racing) work on my quad(300EX).
I have a Wiseco piston(10.5:1 - stock bore), high rev race cam, valve springs, new black box with ignition advance and higher rev limiter, port and polished head with 3-angle valve job.
I described what kind of racing that I was going to do, and he told me the parts that would help out the most.
I have about 30 hours on the new motor right now, and she is running great now that it is completely broken in. My first race is on Sunday.
I give TC two thumbs up. The only downside was, it took about 2 months to get my motor and all of the parts together in one place again.

At the flat drags i was at friday night there was a kid there that had his motor built by TC Racing it was a 415 kit. He waxed both of my friends on their 435 motors built by vortech in california, so TC must be pretty good that is the first time they had been beaten in the 400 class
