Sounds like that wouldn't hurt. Ensure there is fluid in the reservoir. Have you checked to see if it's leaking anywhere?
If you're not familiar with brake bleeding...ensure there is plenty of brake fluid in the reservoir, have someone pump the brake several times and hold it down, meanwhile loosen the brake line (or bleeder screw) that goes into the caliper, you'll get a spirt of air and fluid to come out, tighten it back up, and repeat until you get a solid pedal or pull of the handle. Remember ATV reservoirs are small, so it will only take a few times before it's near empty. You'll need to keep an eye on it and re-fill when necessary.
