Milling the head on a JR 50

Nyroc on the kawaie forum was suggesting milling the head on the suzuki 50s head to raise the compression to 8 to 1, has anyone here done that? And if so how much did you mill off the head? Was there any problem? (high octane fuel?)

I milled my sons .03 last summer after I made this post. It worked out well, but I had to jet up the carb because the engine wanted more fuel then. It help topend, not low end like I thought it would. I will just have to change the cog to get a low gear ratio.

cleaning gasket off my '85 LT50 cylinder, I put a gouge on edge. buddy milled the cylinder for me, about 2-3 thou. i think this would have same effect as milling head. I know it was faster and peppier than another friends lt50 afterwards. he was alittle worried about clearance, but it wasn't a problem.

Hi,
the testdrive today with the milled head worked out great !!!
It did alot on the bottom and not much at top.
Now it has the power to get it started in hills and bumps even with me (160lbs)
I milled the top down 3mm, didnt have to rejet either.
