Default Can u feel my pain?

Well boys.....Dont ever rely on a $10 tie down to do a $25 tie downs job! Saterday when coming home I was pullin up to a stop sigh when BANG! My $6000 02" Scrambler rolls off the front of trailer on to its handle bars and jams under the trailer untill I come to a grinding stop....... The stiching that held the hook on the strap came apart!! Needless to say it wiped out my lights, throttle, front fender molding, and bent the stearing post......sure glad I uped my insurance deductable from $100 to $500...LAST WEEK! ....NOT
Well if it wernt for the Lord watchin out for me it could have come off on the freeway and coulda killed someone and get sued..and ruined the rest of my life...So thank you Jesus!

Well that the sob story......any one know how to get the throttle cable off the throttle or is it all one piece? Help I need to get it replaced so I can get it back together of a ride this saterday..

Man that sucks. Good thing you have the insurance. My friends DS650 came off the trailer going down the highway at 70mph. The aluminum edging on the trailer cut through the tie strap. Needless to say he fudged some stuff up. Luckily I checked my strap and saw that it was alsot all the way through before we go going again.

Sorry to here about your bike ..I worry about this too..I use 2 tie downs on the back of my SP500 and use my winch on the front.to hold it down ,also the railing on the trailer would stop the bike from going any where..but if it's not pulled down tight the trailer bounces and rocks alot....I had this trailer built but there's no shocks ..I wonder if it would ride better with shocks...

4 tie-downs, one on each corner.

Never a problem for me, I use 4 straps also and not those cheapo ones. I had one of them and they broke, now I use good ones. Good thing you had insurance though and it didn't fall off on the highway.

I built a device on my trailer to attach to the trailer hitch ball on my 700. I made a T shaped bracket and welded a trailer hitch coupling onto it, bolted it to the tailgate on my trailer so it can swivel down flat when the tailgate is dropped. I pull the 700 onto the trailer, drop the coupling over the trailer hitch ball and strap the front end down with 2 ratchet straps and it doesn't move.

1. Always spend the extra money on some Ankra's, they're well worth it. 2. Always use more tie downs than you think is necessary.

Some lesson's are painfull, in the big scheme of things you got off lucky...
I always use 4 straps and I sit on the machine and compress the suspension while the straps are tightnd... it doesn't budge...
Even the wood decking on a trailer can cut thru a good strap, it's always something to be aware of, I drilled holes on my trailer and mounted 10 eye bolts to the frame and I use them to tie down.

well just got back for the Polaris dealer......and hes plenty proud of those parts! The two piece light bracket for the scrabbler is about $60 and the throttle is $90! OWCH! Didnt even asy the price for the front fender molding......Story of my life I guess...just RAGGED baby!

4 good quality straps and Im going to make better places to tie them to... U had a neat sounding set up V8s10.
Any one else do anything unusual to tie there rigs down?
