I talked to lots of folks before I got my plow for my Foreman 450, wondering about the "power-to-push" versus "too narrow" issues. Overwhelming consensus was:
(1) 50" works just fine, no problem with it not being much wider than the ATV, and
(2) the 450 has plenty enough power to handle the 60" plow.
Being devoutly lazy, I went with the 60", thinking I'd get the job done quicker. Yep -- it's quick, and there's no lack of power (actually, it's the Foreman's stump-pulling low-end torque that does the trick.)
Two observations after two years of plowing:
(a) The 60" sometimes seems too wide in tight spaces, but having those "outrigger" corners helps in touching up along the edges of things, especially in curves, turns, etc.
(b) That 60" Cycle Country blade & push-bar assembly comes off as a unit (pull a couple of pins, back your quad away, very easy) but it is VERY heavy. Even doing the off-on only once a season is a BEAR of a job -- not the removal, but putting that monster back into the corner of a shed for the summer is a pretty good workout. I dunno if the 50" is lots lighter, but unless you're set up where you can drive the blade to its summer resting spot, you're in for quite a workout horsing that 60" rig into some dark storage corner.
