Question about how much I will gain if..........
#1
Well, I already have a pipe and jet kit, as you can see in my sig. But when I added my filter and pipe, I left the airbox lid on and the snorkles too. So, I plan on taking off the lid and snorkles, and of course rejet. So how much will I gain by doing this, assuming I get the jetting spot on and everything works ok?? Will it be noticable? Just wondering but remember I already have a pipe and stuff so........

CARB MOUNT THE FILTER REJET AND YOU WILL NOTICE QUITE A BIT OF DIFFERENCE IF YOU HAVE THE
45MM CARB TAKE THE MAIN AND PILOT OUT OF THE CARB AND SIMPLY FILL UP WITH ALKY AND GET READY
FOR A WICKED GAIN IN POWER

Thanks for helping but, I'm gonna stay on gas and leave the filter in the box. I just want to know how much I gain if I take off the lid snorkles and rejet.

In my honest opinion i doubt you will gain a noticiable difference, actually with the stock carb i have heard alot of people dyno more horsepower with the lid and tubes in because of the vaccum slide. i dont really know mine stayed stock for about ten minutes sooo. I ran with no lid on the box and I pulled out the drain cap so water COULD drain should it enter... Honestly, I could not tell much with it on or off. The best way its direct mount..

I don't understand though? Your creating more airflow and by jetting it right you SHOULD have more power??

Then do it and see for your self...
I am just saying I did not notice much change with or with out the lid..
The tubes breath O.K.
I went right from stock to the dyno jetkit and lidless box. It was SOMEWHAT noticeable in the mid range but not to the extent of a different carb..
Save up and get your self the lectron 44.. SWEET carb..
I pesonally was not impressed until I switched carbs.. Now I switched again.. I cant WAIT for my lectron...

I run my bike with the filter in the air box, snorkels removed, k&N filter outer where. THe most gain I noticed was with the reponse. I modified my slide spring so it would take less vacum to open.I cut off two coils and stretched it back to the stock lenght. Some people cut as much as four. I like the cut a little and ride technique. You can always take away but not add. remember to measure the stock spring before you cut it. Just my .02 cent. I personally think you will see a gain. The lid only creates more vacum for the slide. cutting the slide spring make the carb require less vacum to open quicker. Good luck.
