stripped paint and started sanding it but looks like its gonna be a while. Very rough metal.

No kidding. I did my cooling fins, just for the heck of it. After the time I tok on the two cases I didn't want to do the whle thing. I found somebody in AZ who knows a guy who will do the whole thing for $50. He will even take the fins off for that to make it more of a smooth look. I don't kow if this is a good deal or not, sounded it to me though. If I had a bench grinder and buffing wheel I might give it a go, but without those 2 things no way.
