changing rear sprocket on 500 scram 4x4
#2
If you change the gearing in rear you'll have to match the front with same gearing being that it is a 4X4.
Things will break or you'll loose control when in 4X4 if the fronts and rears are not turning at the same speed. You'll either be pulling the back tires or pushing the front. Not good. If you never use 4x4 than you should be fine. By why have 4x4 if you can't use it.

Not real sure. But I'd guess you'd have to get some special gearing for the differential or transmission.
It sound's kind of spendy to me. I'm sure parts will need to be made and not bought out right.

Someone on here has a 500 scram 4x4 and changed his gearing, I think he dropped it 1 tooth on the rear sproket without messing up the 4x4. Anthing more than that and myou will have some major problems with your 4x4

Once had a polaris mech. tell me that you change the (ratio) in the front by changing the gear lash to the front drive shaft in the tranny, where the shaft comes out.Inside the tranny.

You can change the rear sprocket without affecting the four wheel drive. If I remember right the max is dropping two teeth on the front and adding one to the rear. The four wheel drive is not engaged all the time anyway. By changing hte gearing you are affecting how qick or slow the four wheel drive engages. Change the sprockets on mine a long time ago. Now I run a tranny with low range.
