ok. I went to the dealer saturday. I almost have my dad talked into an EX but I dont know which one. I like the ergos of the 400, but I like the reverse of the smaller EX. Im 5 feet tall and weigh 96 lbs. Which would be better for me?

For you I would probably have to say the 300ex. They are both very good machines. But serve two different purposes. 300ex Sport trail riding, semi-agessive riding, 400ex High Proformance, agressive trail riding, racing. Keep in mind both machines can be made to do it all.

juventus,

You just don't get it, do you.......
This is a young kid, that doesn't even weight 100lbs. Great idea, let's put him on a 400EX.
Let's get high performance quads banned for another 10 years.

I've seen plenty of your posts, and the only thing you do is rip everything apart. Unless of-course it has something too do with the 400EX.

Grow up.....

Easy man, I'm just trying to hand out a little friendly advice. He's young, will grow and gain weight...I just don't want him to get a small slow bike he'll outgrow in a year. I would however recommend that his sister or his mother get a 300EX though!

CStark: I felt very comfortable on a 400ex and think I can handle it. juventous or whatever his name is has a right to say what he thinks. And if I cant handle a 400ex I take all the blame for killing myself. :P

Good man, Thumper. I've made a few comments about the 300EX before on other threads and CStark gets bent out of shape. Everyone wants to justify their purchase...even not so good ones. I happen to love my 400EX and wouldn't even consider a 300EX but you'll have to make that choice. Every decision is a cost/benefit one...is the benefit worth the cost. If you have any riding experience I think a 400EX would be fine and get the 300EX for your mother or grandmother.

Umm, there's nothing slow about a 300EX! I don't have one but I ride with 300EX's and 400EX's and Banshee's and the 300EX does fine. With an aftermarket pipe and filter the 300EX is a mean machine! Plus it's cheaper, and it has reverse. Just my 2 cents.
