Buying a ATV for my wife

What do you guys or girls suggest for a good quad for a girl. I ride a 2 wheel dirt bike, and I've never ridden quads much. I ride mostly in the Oregon dunes though, so i think a quad would be best for her. I'm thinking maybe either a Warrior, or a Blaster. We will ride in the dirt about 30-40% of the time too. Blasters seem alot cheaper, but I'm wondering if the 2-stroke wheel spin will be no good in the dirt, where a 4-stroke could putt along. I want to spend about $3000 tops. Thanks in advance !! Josh
PS. She is about 5'6, 120lbs

I have owned both these. The Blaster is actually quite small, so if she is on the small side that is a great choice. It is a good trail bike, although being a 2-stroke some fine clutchwork may be necessary. And it does VERY well in the sand, with a light rider.
The Warrior on the other hand is quite big, and handles heavy!! Not the best thing for the sand. There are so many better bikes out there. Skip the Warrior! Besides, it is an overpriced, old tired design.
Another bike in this class is the Honda 300EX. There are also the 250 class autoclutch bikes (250EX and Z250). They are a step down in power, but are durable and handle pretty good.

Hey all, this is my first post to the forum, but I've lurked for quite awhile. I recently started riding a quad and have started out with a Blaster. Not by choice, it was just what we had. I'm 5'6" and 130, and the size seems just right for me. Never using any sort of a clutch, not even on a car, it seemed like I was never gonna learn. Last weekend I made my debut at Silver Lake. I didn't suck too bad =) Only stalled a couple times going up a hill (oops forgot to downshift) But all in all, I know once I get the hang of it, the Blaster seems to have a good size and power for a woman my size (and your wife) and limited ability.

In addition to what I've already heard suggested here, the Polaris Trailblazer is a great bike for a beginning rider woman. It is a 250 2-stroke so it has enough power to get around but it is also automatic. A great way to learn to ride. The Trailblazer is also oil-injected with RPM control, so it keeps the engine running better and you don't have to mix your gas. You and your wife can still share the same gas can! I will admit that it being a 2-stroke auto, it has a terrible low end, but from what you seem to ride I don't imagine that would be a big deal. I would definitely consider the Trailblazer - I know that my aunt rides one (her first bike) and enjoys it with no problems, and I also know that my uncle picked it up used in great condition for a pretty cheap pricetag, also a plus!
