ok i have already broken 2 flywheel pullers trying to get my flywheel off my banshee, i have taken several off before with ease, but this one seems to be frozen on there. i dont want to use heat because it may screw up the stator wiring. someone told me to pop the end of the puller with a hammer but i am not sure what exactly to do about that one, any suggestions?

 

I have never done that for the flywheel but I have for other frozen bolts. It works just don't hit too hard.. I would agree with you on not using heat. Good luck...

 

ok i put the puller on, and snugged everything up, tapped it with a hammer, loosened it again then tightened it and then nothing so i tapped with hammer again, lossened tec tec and the flywheel is still on. but this puller didnt break but it isnt pulling the flywheel off. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I put the puller on, tighten it down, and tap the puller shaft with a hammer...if you clamp the puller down tight, don't stand in front of the flywheel, it'll come off in a hurry, and would hurt if it caught you in the leg.

 

ok this is prolly the wierdest thing that has happen be4, i wanted my flywheel off so i can try to see if there was a loose wire for my lights not working but i couldnt get the flywheel off like i normally do or like u all have told me, so i put it back on and decided to do without lights and just day ride for memorial day weekend in the dunes but when i started it JUST to check if they worked, THEY DID!!! so i guess all the tapping on the flywheel puller knocked something back into place, but after the dune ride i will have to see about getting it off, thank u all for the advice

 

blue_Banshee, you could also rewire the lights.. it would be much simpler.

 

Thanks for that info from snap-on. Yes we are talking about the same thing, I got mine at magic and it is a left handed thread with the same center piece to set the impact on.
