piped kfx 400.will it beat a stock raptor or preditor?

With just a pipe you won't win. The raptor would be first then a predator (these two are close) and then you'd be pretty far behind. Now if you have a good pipe, rejetted, removed the airbox lid, and added a 440 kit then you'll win but the pipe won't do it by itself. At least I wouldn't think it would. I've seen this exact race before and the stock raptor won by about three quads.

If you are a good rider and have a pipe, air filter w/no lid, and jetted good you should be able to run with them through at least 4th gear or mid way through 5th.
Thats from my experience.

it doesnt take a big bore kit to keep up with a raptor. if you put lets say trinitys 440 kit or ct's 453 kit your not only gonna beat a stock raptor but beat it bad. ct's 453 kit is pushin over 50 hp. im sayin piped, jetted and cams , or piped jetted and higher comp. piston and youve just beat a raptor. this is from my experience. My brother has a raptor and i dunno. the raptors must be different around here or somethin...lol. but stock to stock a raptor wont beat my kfx by much at all. My brother has one and his didnt stay stock long at all, but when i first got my kfx he had his raptor piped and jetted and he even admitts that he dont think if his was stock that he couldnt beat me by much at all. He weighs about 240 and weight about 145. that makes a difference too.

I don't know but I've lost pretty bad before about three quads in a 300foot race, which isn't astronomical but it's pretty big. The thread said just a pipe and we all know just a pipe doesn't give you a whole lot more. Of course if you get a pipe needless to say you're probably doing some other mods as well, at least rejetting and removing the airbox lid. This would give you a lot more bottom end and I would say you would be hang with a rappy for a little while. I can usually stay right with one stock through third get just getting into fourth and then they pull away pretty fast.

I was racing my piped/jetted/geared DS against a stock raptor and a stock predator. The raptor was even almost every race I won some. The predator kicked my butt every time. Not sure but it seemed like the predator was way faster then the raptor...

Wow, seriously I've heard that before but mainly from predator riders. I've heard the predator does have a higher top speed than the raptor. The predator beat you every time also? He must have had a few mods on his quad didn't he? Oh well I never doubted or put down polaris's. I know that they have a few problems on earlier models but there no differnent than any other company. I love those ds's and wish more of them were around here.

Both were bone stock. I am 300 pounds though and both the Predator and Raptor had 200 pound riders. Both very experienced. It is not a fair speed comparisom for the DS because of my weight, just to compair the Pred and Rappy speeds to my base speed.
