Changed the rear brake pads on my 99 wolverine last night then went for a short ride. When I looked at them there was smoke coming off of them because they were very hot. The pad must be rubbing on the rotor. What did I do wrong? Any suggestions. I replaced the pads with EBC sintered metal pads and they are the correct part for my wolverine.

I put the same pads on my 99 with no problems. If you were able to get the caliper and new brakes onto the rotor, they should be ok. Are all 3 smoking? I always put anti seize compound on the pins in the caliper. Sounds like something may be sticking. Put it up and see if it is dragging.

 

Do like Boomer said and also tap the caliper lightly to knock out any mud etc. that might be causing the caliper to stick, also make sure that your parking brake adjustment bolt isn't adjusted wrong.
